Lou Barlow was one of those guys who I always wished would just buy some decent recording gear. He finally did by 2005 and now he has a new record forthcoming on Merge in October entitled Goodnight Unknown. Simple, subtle and effective; reminds of his Folk Implosion vibe... but better recorded.
