Thanks to @johntooker for tipping me off to this video. AGL is an application being developed by an electronic musician for electronic musicians. It looks cool, but more importantly it sounds cool. Looking forward to see where this project goes.
Bjork's new single Crystalline is the jam! It really comes down to those last 0:47 seconds that just send the song out into the stratosphere and into familiar, yet fresh territory.
So simple, just take an Amen break, chop it up and accent it with some proper sub bass and... your golden! Only Bjork's approach is less is more, yielding the most desirable effect a song writer could want... the need to hear the song again.
Well done.
The bass is a little loud and the performance is a little loose, but so powerful at the same time. tUnE-yArDs is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, I love how Merrill just brings a raw soul energy to something that is more in the Avant Garde and of course, can pull it off live with musicians and tape loops. I love music that challenges me to be a better player and make better music!
